The protection of springs and groundwater sources in the catchment area of a planned geothermal project is of the utmost priority for Geo-Energie Suisse AG. This aspect is intensively examined as part of the environmental impact assessment. Based on the investigations, it is explained how the protection of the groundwater sources and springs can be ensured.

When a deep geothermal project is realised, comprehensive groundwater monitoring is carried out for the preservation of evidence. The monitoring is carried out periodically and continuously and is used for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
