COSEISMIQ (COntrol SEISmicity and Manage Induced earthQuakes) is another project funded under GEOTHERMICA in which Geo-Energie Suisse is participating.

This research, innovation and demonstration project brings together a small team of some of the most experienced geothermal project operators and leading scientists from Switzerland, Germany and Iceland. The project will improve and validate advanced induced seismicity monitoring and control technologies that have been developed and implemented computationally over the past three years. These technologies are now ready to serve as an adaptive, data-driven decision support tool in industrial applications, the main objective of COSEISMIQ. The project will demonstrate the technology in a commercial application. Iceland was chosen as the demonstration site because the conditions are ideal: there are many existing geothermal projects with proven commercial success.
