• May 2018: Positive decision on funding for the project as part of the international research project HEATSTORE
• October 2018: Drilling permit obtained

• May 2019: Positive decision on funding for the exploration of the geothermal reservoir at the Forsthaus Bern pilot project under CO₂ legislation

• 2020-2021: Construction of the drilling site
• April 2022: Drilling contract awarded to PR Marriott Drilling Limited, along with other service contracts.
